Good Smile Company shared the winner for the Rainwear category of the Hatsune Miku Illustration Contest. The winner for each category will have their illustration turned into a figure, and will also receive a money prize of 2 million yen (or about $13.795.)

The winner for the Rainwear category was Japanese artist Saine (or @sainexxx on X.) At the time of writing, there is no information on when the figure will appear. This category is the sixth out of 12 in the contest, with the latest reveal marking the midway point for the competition. The contest features various motifs and themes for Hatsune Miku and other Vocaloid and Piapro characters, such as Kaito or Kagamine Len, among others. The next three categories are still open for participants, with submissions being accepted until June 23, 2025. These are Vacation theme for Meiko, Cute Subculture for Hatsune Miku, and Animal theme for Kagamine Len.

Plenty of other Hatsune Miku Illustration contests have been held in the past, with some of the winners also being turned into figures. One of these figures include a design for Hatsune Miku dressed in an Autumn Trip costume, announced back in September 2024.

The Hatsune Miku Illustration Contest is currently undergoing, and the Rainwear category is the latest entry to reveal its winner.

From June 14, 2025, Avail stores will start stocking Sanrio and Vocaloid collaboration clothing featuring characters like Hatsune Miku and Cinnamoroll. They’ll also appear in the online stores, though Avail does not offer international shipping.

As a note, the only characters with items who appear in this collection are Miku with Cinnamoroll, Rin with Pompompurin, Len with Badtz-Maru, and Luka with My Melody. Kaito and Meiko do have Sanrio counterparts, but Avail is not stocking any items featuring their color schemes or designs.

You can only get the six Piapro Vocaloid characters in this collection, which are Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Len, Kagamine Rin, Megurine Luka, Kaito, and Meiko. Miku is the one who appears on the most products, and some items are only available with her on them.

The official social media for Hatsune Miku and the Crypton and Piapro Vocaloids confirmed that Kagamine Len “performed” alongside Nijisanji English LazuLight Vtubers during the fourth anniversary 3D concert livestream. While the photo showed the Vocaloid’s model with both of the performers, only Elira performed the noripy song “Migikata no Chou” with the character. The Vocaloid only appeared for a single song during the presentation.

Here’s the full LazuLight 3D concert with the Nijisanji English Vtubers Finana Ryugu and Elira Pendora, and Kagamine Len appeared at the 33:27 mark. 

This isn’t the first time a Crypton and Piapro Vocaloid sang with Nijisanji English Vtubers. Hatsune Miku was the first. She performed alongside Ike Eveland back in July 2024. However, now that he graduated from the company in April 2025, that official video performance is gone.

In addition to the concert that appeared on Elira Pendora’s channel, a fourth anniversary LazuLight stream appeared on the YouTube channel for Finana Ryugu. You can watch that stream with the two of them below.

As a reminder, LazuLight was the first Nijisanji English branch of Vtubers, and it featured Pomu Rainpuff, Finana, and Elira. Pomu graduated from the company back in January 2024.

Kaiyodo and Piapro used social media to announce a new Hatsune Miku figure, and this time it is a Revoltech model based on the game Fitness Boxing Feat Hatsune Miku, known as Fit Boxing in Japan. An initial image appeared alongside the reveal. There’s no word yet on when pre-orders will open, how much it will cost, and when it will debut in Japan.

Fitness Boxing Feat Hatsune Miku is, as the game suggests, an entry in the Fit Boxing series that involves us boxing in time to music by Piapro Vocaloids. This Revoltech figure is based on her appearance in it. That means she’s wearing her hoodie and black sweatpants. Her face might also look a bit different, since it is based on the in-game character model. 

As this is a Revoltech, that means this Hatsune Miku figure will be fully articulated and capable of recreating poses from the game. These types of figures tend to be just over five inches tall (around 140mm), and they tend to include multiple face plates and hand parts. So while the initial photo only shows a standard smiling face plate in place and hands in a more relaxed pose, we could see more energetic faces and her hands in fists to simulate her punches and jabs.

Fitness Boxing Feat Hatsune Miku is available worldwide, though it does go under the Fit Boxing name in Japan, and the Revoltech figure based on her design in that game is in development.

A collaboration pop-up store featuring Sanrio mascots and Piapro Vocaloids will appear in Tokyo station from May 9 to 22, 2025. Goods feature designs from illustrator Shiraho, as well as the characters wearing pajamas.

You’ll be able to find the Sanrio and Piapro pop-up store at Tokyo Character Street. It’s a shopping district in Tokyo station, with stores that feature merchandise of popular anime, cartoon, and video game characters. Some items will be available online as well, and the Tokyo Character Street online plaza offers international delivery. This means that you don’t need to be in Japan in order to purchase these items. As of the time of writing, the Sanrio and Piapro goods are not yet on the website.

The line-up of character and mascot combinations are:

• Hatsune Miku x Cinnamoroll
• Kagamine Len x Badtzmaru
• Kagamine Rin x Pompompurin
• Kaito x Tuxedosam

All of the characters are wearing pajamas in their signature colors, with the mascots also having matching sleep masks on their heads. This isn't the first time such combinations appeared in collaborations, too. Plenty of merchandise featuring Miku and Cinnamoroll together has appeared in recent years.

As for the items, you’ll be able to get fan merchandise like ballpoint pens, stickers, acrylic stands, clear files, and acrylic keychains. You can also get a tote bag, though these will be available from May 17, 2025. Items range from 440 JPY (for a clear folder) to 4180 JPY (for a T-shirt).

The Sanrio and Piapro characters pop-up shop will open up from May 9 to 22, 2025.

A second Hatsune Miku concert will take place in the Gundam Metaverse. “Just Communication”, which was the opening for Gundam Wing, will be one of the songs in her set list.

The concert will take place from April 23 to May 18, 2025. You can catch the afternoon show from 3:00 PM JST (11:00 PM PDT a day earlier/2:00 AM EDT) or 11:00 PM JST (7:00 AM PDT/10:00 AM EDT). Each concert will last around thirty minutes, and it’s free. Aside from “Just Communication” and other songs from the Gundam series, Miku will also sing popular original songs from Vocaloid producers.

Here is the set list for the second Hatsune Miku concert in the Gundam Metaverse:

Speaking of the main lobby, a virtual recreation of the life-sized Gundam that’ll be displayed at the Gundam Next Future Pavillion event in Osaka and Kansai will appear in the digital space from April 21 to May 20, 2025.

The Gundam Metaverse is available on web browsers you can access via Chrome, Edge, and Safari (iOS only).

A second Amp+ collaboration figure between Hatsune Miku and Rody will appear in the Taito crane game machines as a prize. This Miku’s theme is “fairy tale” and so she’s wearing a dress that’s reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.

The announcement Tweet from Taito did not mention how large the figure is. It shows Miku wearing a frilly blue dress, blue high heels, and a maid-like headdress with pink ears protruding from it. A pink donkey-like creature is next to her. Miku is smiling while holding up a hand, and the stand she’s on resembles a heart-shaped bubble or cushion. This figure is based on artwork from illustrator 4, and it’s the second collaboration figure between Hatsune Miku and Rody.

The first collaboration between Hatsune Miku and Rody came out in February 2024 as a crane game prize. This figure stood at around 7.8 inches tall, and so the fairy tale Miku figure will likely stand at that height as well. More information on that should come out in the future. 

Other Hatsune Miku figures that have been announced or will come out in 2025 include a commemorative Nendoroid from Good Smile Company to celebrate the 100th Miku Nendoroid. Again from Good Smile Company, you can also purchase a plamo model kit that lets you build your own Nendoroid of Miku. Megahouse also teased two new Miku and Gundam Lucrea figures.

The Hatsune Miku and Rody fairy tale figure will appear as a prize in Taito crane games in mid-April 2025.

Good Smile Company has opened up the poll for the Snow Miku 2026 outfit. The winner of this poll will appear as a Nendoroid in the future, as well as on merchandising.

The final selection of outfits includes designs for both Miku and the snow rabbit Yukine. For 2026, the Snow Miku theme is Patisserie of Happiness, so all of the Mikus either look like they’re working in a bakery, or they draw inspiration from baked goods. For example, the designer for the third entry states that they drew her to resemble a rare cheesecake with blueberries from Hokkaido.

The voting period will last until April 7, 2025. You don’t need to submit any information to vote, and you can only vote once. Results will be announced in August 2025.

Snow Miku first appeared in 2010, though voting to decide on the annual design began in 2012. You could choose based on personal preference, or whichever one you thought best fit the theme of that year. From 2014, each Snow Miku also started getting their own theme songs and music videos. Aside from appearing as Nendoroids or figures, Snow Mikus can appear in games like Project Diva as a Module you can put on Hatsune Miku.

Crypton Future Media and Good Smile Company are now accepting costume design proposals for Hatsune Miku and Rabbit Yukine Nendoroid figure for the Snow Miku 2026 design. The deadline to send proposals is set to March 10, 2025. [Thanks, PR Times!]

In addition to the costume design being featured on the figure, it will also be worn by Snow Miku and Yukine Rabbit during the 2026 celebration of the event in Hokkaido, Japan. The theme for this year's design is “Happy Patisserie.” Other goods in addition to the Nendoroid will appear for the celebration, and will be announced at a later date.

The finalists for the new Snow Miku 2026 costume and Nendoroid figure design will be announced by the end of March 2025. Meanwhile, the winner will be revealed sometime on August 2025. Good Smile Company will also announce the release date for the figure at a later date.

The Snow Miku 2025 celebration was held in Hokkaido on February 8-9, 2025. The Nendoroid design for this year’s version of Snow Miku and Rabbit Yukine was revealed in August 2024. Pre-orders for the 2025 version of the figure are now open until March 12, 2025 and it is set to release on July 2025.

The Snow Miku 2026 costume and Nendoroid design proposal is now open and the deadline is March 10, 2025.

“Crystal Snow,” the theme song for the 2025 Snow Miku design, is now available on YouTube. Aqu3ra composed the song, while TomoboP handled the mastering. As usual, the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid software is used for the music.

Aqu3ra is a newer Vocaloid producer; he made his debut in 2018. Some examples of his compositions include “Supernova,” “Ghost Dance,” and “Lonely Universe.” TomoboP (Tomodachi BoshuuP) debuted in 2009. Though he started out as a composer, he’s more prominent nowadays for his audio mastering and engineering work. Illustrator Yuribou handled the artwork and animation for the “Crystal Snow” music video. Mono-Devoid edited it as well.

In the description for “Crystal Snow,” Piapro described it as a lovely song that conveys the warmth inside the cold feeling of ice. Piapro revealed this year’s design back in August 2024. The theme for this year was “Kira Kira Snow Material,” which is why there are snowflakes and ice shards in Miku’s hair and outfit. This theme might’ve also served as inspiration for Aqu3ra and TomoboP when working on the song.

Snow Miku is a seasonal version of Miku, with a design that changes every year depending on Piapro’s theme. Design contests for Snow Miku started in 2012 and the look with the most votes at the end would be the “official” one to receive merchandise or appear in music videos. The first time a theme song appeared for a Snow Miku was in 2014, though.

Good Smile Company will open up pre-orders for the Snow Miku 2025 Nendoroid later this year.

Hatsune Miku is the first mascot DLC added to the PC app Desktop Mate. With the newly released DLC for the application, Miku can now hang out on top of your computer desktop windows, peek around the border of your screen, play with your mouse cursor, and respond to alarms.

Desktop Mate is a free mascot application available for PC that allows cute anime characters to hang out on your screen while you work, study, or use your computer. The app features various settings such as character's size, app volume, and character graphic options. More unannounced characters are planned to appear in Desktop Mate as DLC.

A release trailer for Desktop Mate shows some of the functions available. The trailer prominently features Aiel-tan (or Aieru-tan in Japanese,) the mascot character of developer infiniteloop and the default free character available in Desktop Mate, with the Hatsune Miku DLC being briefly d at the end of the clip.

For people looking to add more Hatsune Miku into their lives, Fitness Boxing feat Hatsune Miku is now available for Nintendo Switch, and the new Hatsune Miku Japan Live Tour 2025 dates were announced back in late November 2024.

Don Quijote is once again collaborating with Piapro, and the Akihabara store will start stocking merchandise of Hatsune Miku and her fellow Vocaloid friends. The goods, which depict everyone looking like of royalty, will appear from December 28, 2024.

So far, we don’t know what specific merchandise Don Qujiote will stock for this campaign. More information on that will appear later. As mentioned earlier, the characters look like they’re royalty or nobles in some old European kingdom. There are two versions of each character, though their general aesthetics remain the same. For example, Meiko's outfit makes her feel older than the others, while Kaito looks like a very traditional prince. Len, on the other hand, resembles a younger and more mischievous one, whereas Luka's fashion makes her look more like a knight.

The previous Hatsune Miku fair at Don Qujiote Akihabara took place in May 2024. This one featured the characters wearing jirai-kei clothing. Jirai-kei is a Japanese fashion subculture that recreates the look of a “jirai-kei girl,” who are emotionally volatile pick-mes who put on a cutesy front to hide their nasty personality. As part of their disguise, jirai-kei girls tend to wear very cute and feminine outfits. Their hairstyles and make-up also make them look younger or vulnerable so that others want to protect them, even though they should be protecting others from them.

More information on the new Don Qujiote Hatsune Miku fair will come out in the near future. Other recent Vocaloid collaboration merchandise include a figure of Hatsune Miku holding Cinnamoroll and Milk.

After skipping 2024, the Hatsune Miku Japan Live Tour will return for 2025 with “Blooming” as the theme of the year. It will visit more locations than last time as well.

Though there isn’t a set list just yet, the official announcement stated that the Vocaloids will perform recent songs, classic pieces, and new ones, as well as songs that had been performed in domestic and international concerts. The concert theme is “Blooming” not only because the concert takes place in spring, but also because Piapro wants to make creativity bloom all across the country. Though the concert is a “Hatsune Miku tour,” it will also feature Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, and Kaito.

Piapro has set up a special site for the 20th anniversary of Meiko, a Vocaloid that Yamaha Corporation developed and Crypton Future Media distributed. She first came out in November 2004.

The site includes information on some of the commemorative merchandise you’ll be able to purchase. As well, you can check out Meiko’s biography and past designs. Wasshi, who designed her V1 look, sent in the concept art, which you can check out on the website as well. As for goods that are part of the Meiko 20th anniversary celebrations, you’ll be able to get figures like Nendoroids, as well as food items like sake and macarons.

As one of Piapro’s Vocaloids, Meiko often appears in games like Project Diva. Some of the songs that appear in these games include “Mellow Yellow” and “Nostalgic.” She also appears in ensemble tracks, or in duets with other Vocaloids like Kaito.

Singer-songwriter Meiko Haigo provides the vocal samples for Meiko. You can check out her YouTube channel and website for more information on her musical activities. Haigo is still holding live performances, and her most recent one was on November 3, 2024. Her next one will be on December 8, 2024.

The Meiko site will continue to update whenever there are new campaigns or projects that are part of the 20th anniversary for the Vocaloid.
