Nihon Falcom and GungHo released matching Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter trailers highlighting the English voice actors for stars Estelle and Joshua. Each video offers examples of cinematic scenes and notable lines, and there are a few times when we see each character attack. Both appeared after the Japanese YouTube did the same.

First, here’s the Estelle English Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter trailer. She’s voiced by Stephanie Sheh. She’s reprising her role from past games, and we most recently heard her play the character in Trails into Reverie. She appeared as Maria Robotnik in Sonic x Shadow Generations and Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED Freedom recently too.

Here’s the Japanese version of that video. Tomoyo Takayanagi is her voice actress in that language.

Next, here’s the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Joshua trailer highlighting Johnny Yong Bosch as his English voice actor. Like Sheh, he’s reprising a role he’s played since Trails of Cold Steel IV. Other recent parts he played include Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach Rebirth of Souls and Vash in Trigun Stampede

And here’s the Japanese trailer highlighting Natsumi Fujiwara’s performance as Joshua.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will come to the Switch, PS5, and PC on September 19, 2025. Standard and collector’s editions will be available. However, in the case of the Bracer Edition, the game will be shipped ahead of the bonus items, as those won’t appear until sometime between November and December 2025.

Genshin Impact Skirk Anime Short Hints at Her Origins

HoYoVerse released a new Genshin Impact anime style short for Skirk that looks at her backstory and hints at her origins before the events of the game. It also features a number of cameos that show her interactions with prominent of the cast before her debut as a playable unit.

Editor’s Note: The Genshin Impact anime short for Skirk features spoilers for the character. 85q5u

The Genshin Impact Skirk anime style introduction begins with her being picked by Surtalogi: The Foul. He is sending her to Teyvat and notes that the Descenders to the world have “the power to reshape the fate of the world.” However, Sutralogi noted she is not one, since he brought her there, and as such is a “treser.” We then see her fall like a shooting star, with Fontaine characters like Furina and Neuvillette see her descent.

As Surtalogi tells her to “walk his path” to find a way to defeat him, he also reminds Skirk that Teyvat isn’t her home. Segments after that hint she encountered Klee’s mom Alice, Dainsleif, and Childe (Tartaglia). We also see her numerous battles against various types of opponents.

Here’s the full “Star Odyssey” short:

We do know what to expect from Skirk’s moveset once she debuts in-game. She’ll be a Cryo character who uses a sword to attack opponents. She’ll use The Foul’s attack for her Havoc: Warp Elemental Skill. Also, she doesn’t use Elemental Energy for her Havoc: Ruin Burst, instead it with or without Serpent’s Subtlety earned from her Skill.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices. The 5.7 update arrives on June 18, 2025.

Disgaea 7 Complete Will Be a Switch 2 Exclusive

Back in 2023, Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless showed up on the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, and now in Fall 2025 Disgaea 7 Complete will debut on the Switch 2. As with pasts releases, it includes all DLC, and this version will also include some new challenges and Asagi. Rakshasa Baal will also be present to fight. A first trailer showed everything off.

In Disgaea 7 Complete, we follow a rich otaku named Pirilika who wants the full Hinomoto Netherworld experience. However, when she gets there she finds it is nothing like she expected. So she hired Fuji, tricking him into a contract, to help her restore the region and bushido code.

Here’s the first trailer confirming Disgaea 7 Complete will show up on the Switch 2. While it initially started with standard gameplay footage, by the halfway point we get teasers for the included DLC, Asagi, and Rakshasa Baal. Hell Mode for everyone is confirmed, if you “Freely Use Infernal Treasures,” and the previous stat cap can be lifted if you “Take Me Beyond the Limits.” The official site also confirmed the DLC bonus stories and characters, Pleinair, glasses costumes, special weapons set, Disgaea costumes, and generic unit costumes will all be part of this.

Initial screenshots also appeared:

Disgaea 7 Complete is coming to the Switch 2 in Fall 2025, and the main game is already on the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

Review: Date Everything Feels Like It Literally Forces You to Date Everything game

One of my dating sim and visual novel pet peeves is being locked out of certain routes unless you go through others. It’s understandable at many times, since it usually involves one potentially spoiler character or a true route, so it’s typically not a big problem in the otome games I play. Except in Date Everything it can be, since there are over 100 love interests in the game and certain requirements force you into interactions with a few of the most grating individuals I’ve ever met with no “dialogue skip” options to speed through them. Combine that with it not running well on the Switch, and you may experience issues.

The first day we start working at an Amazon-esque company called Valdivian, we’re immediately put in a holding pattern due to being replaced by AI. In limbo, a mysterious individual from the company decides to send us the Dateviator glasses that brings inanimate objects and concepts to life as beings we can date. Why? It turned out we were the lowest paid person there. What follows is an opportunity to go around the house “awakening” the over 100 possible love interests there and becoming friends, enemies, or lovers with them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5K_NewDcyY&ab_channel=Team17

Date Everything is a dating sim visual novel in which you roam around a house to find certain objects to awaken and date them. While this is often straightforward and involves walking up to an item or household element, putting on the Dateviators glasses, and sending out a beam, it can occasional involve a bit more interactivity. For example, you might need to turn something on or engaging in a certain activity for someone to show up. When you talk to these characters, you select dialogue options. Some responses may be locked away behind stats that go up after you gain a definitive love, hate, or friends relationship status with certain characters. All the while, a side-story about an evil corporation that invented the glasses, has a CEO trying to steal all glory and money, and a workforce being decimated by AI. The writing can be clever and funny for some characters or situations, but it also can feel very surface-level since most relationships max out after a handful of conversations and there are so many characters.

Unfortunately, Date Everything doesn’t take a traditional visual novel approach to making dialogue options, and it can be an issue in the dating sim as a result. Rather than seeing a menu with two to four responses, each one is tied to an action button on the controller. The problem is, the button to confirm or advance text is often an option. So if you are clicking too quickly through conversations, you can accidentally make a selection you didn’t want. This happened to me quite a few times, and unfortunately I noticed A ended up being connected to a joke or mean response, which would send conversations in directions I didn’t want.

The thing is, Date Everything may be an “open-house” sandbox in which you could pursue friendship, love, or hatred with individuals, but it also limits the player at every opportunity. Want to go everywhere in the house? You can’t. One location is locked away. Want access to every dialogue option in a conversation? Nope. Some are locked behind unreasonable stat requirements in the double digits. Want to talk to more than five people in a day? You’re not allowed. You’re limited to five conversations, which can be eaten up if someone you are pursuing needs you to check with other characters for a request tied to them and their route. Which also means you can’t only focus on one or two people you like, because the game forces you into other interactions.

That’s another thing that bothers me about Date Everything, and that is that I felt forced to talk to everyone. Now, the voice acting here is incredible and I love the character designs. But man, do I hate a bunch of these characters’ personalities. Many of them are really gimmicky, to the point I found it off-putting. I didn’t want to talk to them. Especially since, as I mentioned earlier, some of these characters feel a bit surface-level and don’t get all that deep. There are exceptions, of course. Since there is no option to skip or speed through dialogue in those instances, you’re stuck talking to people you might not like. Also, since your stat boosts are tied to definitive relationship statuses with the individuals, you are actually forced to interact with them to the point they hate, like, or love you so that you can select certain choices in the conversations with folks whose company you do enjoy or reach an endgame state.

There is one exception to this, and I hate it. I am so frustrated that there is one character whose route is locked into one outcome, and this happens pretty much immediately. Date Everything, but… wait! Not that one! What makes it worse is I adore that performer, in addition to finding the in-game individual to be one of the more fun and fleshed-out folks, so I ended up quite bummed that there was no opportunity for other options.

Also, I’m not sure if these are just Switch issues, as that’s where I played Date Everything, but the lighting is just awful. Once you get to the afternoon and evening period, it’s hard to clearly see everything! By my third day in the house, I figured out I could turn on light switches and lamps in rooms, but by nightfall I realized it often barely made any difference. Which means sometimes I’d mistakenly click on characters if I wasn’t paying attention.

Other issues are ones that seem like they could be present on other systems, though my experience was limited to the Switch. The outlines of response prompts coming up early in conversations sometimes worried me that I pressed A to advance too quickly through dialogue and missed things. Characters’ portraits fluctuated between poses during conversations sometimes, especially with Parker, Harper, and Captain Jacques. There were occasional object pop-ins and pop-outs depending on how close I was to objects, with the dishwasher and fridge being prime examples. The game also referred to me using they/them in some conversations, such as with Curt and Rod, even though I set my pronouns as she/her.

I appreciate the gimmick and the talent Sassy Chap pulled together for Date Everything. The character designs are inventive and look fantastic. It’s entertaining, especially when it discusses not-Amazon and AI. My issue is I really didn’t want to talk to all of these characters. At most, I wanted to see the full storylines for like 1/10th of them. But because it doesn’t feature typical visual novel quality of life features and basically forces you into conversations with cast , you’ll be stuck getting to know folks even if you don’t want to. Especially when it gets into the evening in-game and things get to be difficult to see.

Date Everything will be available on the Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on June 17, 2025.

Genshin Impact Kaeya and Xiao Nendoroids Still in Development

Back at Smile Fest 2022, HoYoVerse said it would make Genshin Impact Kaeya and Xiao Nendoroids. However, nothing happened after that announcement. During the Nendoroid FUNS video released on June 12, 2025, it confirmed both characters are still in the works.

However, there is no actual sign of progress on the Kaeya and Xiao Genshin Impact Nendoroids. During the portion of the video when they came up, the same official HoYoVerse art of both characters appeared. There is still no concept art of other of the men in the Nendoroid style. As such, there are also no painted prototypes.

Here’s the full Nendoroid FUNS June 2025 showcase. Kaeya and Xiao showed up at about the 14:24 mark.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT4BGppOoZM

The first Genshin Impact Nendoroids came up in 2021. Player avatars Aether and Lumine debuted first. After that, we started to see the Archons. Venti appeared shortly after. The Zhongli one debuted in Japan in May 2025. Raiden Shogun is coming soon too.

However, while the Genshin Impact figures started coming at a slower pace, ones from other HoYoVerse series showed up more frequently. Honkai: Star Rail ones of people like March 7th, Dan Heng, and Aventurine all appeared, and we know Zenless Zone Zero Wise, Belle, and Lycaon will show up in 2025 and 2026 too.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the Kaeya and Xiao Nendoroids are still in development.

Next Stellar Blade Eve Figure Is a Nendoroid

Good Smile Company announced it is working on a Stellar Blade Eve figure during its Nendoroid FUNS showcase on June 12, 2025. She’s very early in development. As such, only concept art for the character appeared during the video presentation.

While this is only a concept, the initial art does offer a hint as to what to expect from the figure. This version of Eve will be wearing her Planet Diving Suit (7th). This is her default costume in the game. She’ll also wear her hair in her standard ponytail. The design also seems to show she’ll come with at least one face plate that shows her with a gentle smile. No weapons were shown in this design, so we don’t know what kinds of accessories could be included.

Here’s the full Nendoroid FUNS June 2025 announcement video:

There are also more standard scale figures of characters like Eve from Stellar Blade in addition to this Nendoroid. One of the most notable comes from JND Studios. Eve and Tachy figures are in development and expected to debut in Q3 2026.

Stellar Blade is available for the PS5 and PC, and the new Good Smile Company figure in the works is an Eve Nendoroid.

Secret Theater Returns in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

During Konami Press Start 2025, the company kicked off with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and showed its Bomberman crossover content, the return of Secret Videos, and an online Fox Hunt hide-and-seek mode. Brief footage of all three elements came up during the showcase.

Snake vs Bomberman is in the Xbox Series X version of the game instead of the Snake vs Monkey Ape Escape crossover. In it, we attack various Bomberman characters with bombs to defeat them.

With Secret Theater videos, those will return in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. However, accessing them will be different. While in the past they were on sites or visible in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, here they are collectibles found on enemies. In the one gameplay example, we see Naked Snake get a “The Beginning is The End” Secret Theater video. The showcase also confirmed that new ones will be added to past ones.

Finally, Fox Hunt Mode is still something of a mystery, but it will be the online multiplayer experience in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The presentation described it as new and totally original. It will also rely on stealth, like the main game, and balance hide and seek with running to find other players.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on August 28, 2025. The original game appeared on the PS2, and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D appeared on the 3DS.

code vein 2 character customization

In a Famitsu article with Keita Iizuka, the producer of the Code Vein II, he discusses character customization in the sequel, and how the team expanded on the feature since the first game. According to Iizuka, of the development team have given positive on how much more flexible it will be compared to Code Vein. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Code Vein II will let you create and customize your own vampire hunter protagonist. The design will be anime-esque, but there will be more facial parts to choose from and more settings to fiddle with compared to before. Not only will you be able to balance how the eyes and nose settle on the face, but you’ll be able to make hairstyles straight or wavy based on preference. You’ll also be able to add more accessories to your vampire hunter.

Bandai Namco first unveiled Code Vein II during the Summer Game Fest 2025 stream in early June 2025. You will play as a vampire hunter who dies while on a mission. However, a vampire girl resuscitates you by offering her a piece of your heart. The story has elements of time travel, and he must travel between the past and the present to save the world from certain destruction. More details on the story, gameplay, and characters will appear closer to the release window.

Code Vein II will come out for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC in 2026. You can wishlist it now.

Resident Evil Requiem Playable in First-Person or Third-Person

When Resident Evil Requiem debuts, it will follow the recent trend from Capcom to offer both a first-person or third-person perspective as an option when playing. The PlayStation Blog and Capcom confirmed both viewpoints will be options to choose from when going through the game.

First-person perspectives in this Capcom series are still a relatively new thing. Resident Evil 7 utilized that type of viewpoint when it debuted in 2017, and it was the only perspective offered for that installment. Capcom went on to also include it as an option in Resident Evil Village as well. However, in that game you could choose between first and third-person when you played.

We only just learned about this ninth entry in the Resident Evil series during Summer Game Fest 2025. For the initial Resident Evil Requiem trailer, Capcom focused on including footage from cinematic scenes. We didn’t actually get to really see any gameplay from the event. It mainly focused on introducing the new protagonist Grace Ashcroft and showing how the story will bring us back to Raccoon City.

Resident Evil Requiem will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 27, 2026, and we'll learn more about it throughout 2025..

Death Stranding 2 Trailer Focuses on Dangerous Gameplay

The latest Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer appeared ahead of its debut later in June 2025, and this time the focus is on the more hazardous elements of gameplay we’ll encounter as Sam Porter Bridges attempts to make deliveries and build up the Chiral Network. While a portion of the video is dedicated to the different structures we can build and ive elements that help us on our task, it also spends quite a bit of time highlighting how high the stakes will be in this entry.

The latest Death Stranding 2 gameplay trailer first shows some of the regions where Sam will be making deliveries and connecting people to the network. We also see exactly how drastically some areas ended up altered due to the extent of Chiralium present there. In addition to more otherworldly elements like Timefall that ages and degrades things, it also means extreme weather conditions. We see Sam go through a sudden flooded river and major earthquake. There’s also a Voidout caused by BTs at about the 1:15 mark.

At about the 1:20 mark, we get to see some of the things Sam can build or use to get by. A picture of the Sam’s Stats screen comes up, and that looks at his Carrying Capacity. We see him equip a Bokka Skeleton to help with stability and strength. There are also vehicles and roads shown. The video also closes out by seeing what it is like to deal with hostile humans and BTs while on journeys.

Here’s the full Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer called“Explore. Connect. Survive.”

In addition to the first game and the sequel, there will be one more way to take in Death Stranding’s world soon. A movie is in development. Kojima Productions confirmed it back in December 2023. While details about it and its direction are slim, Norman Reedus did tell IGN he’d want to reprise his role “if it was an option.”

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on the PS5 in early access on June 24, 2025, and the full game debuts on June 26, 2025. There is also a special DualSense controller with a design inspired by it.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Patch Adjusts Dodge and Parry Timing 5x384y https://siliconera.zoneani.me/clair-obscur-expedition-33-patch-adjusts-dodge-and-parry-timing/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=clair-obscur-expedition-33-patch-adjusts-dodge-and-parry-timing https://siliconera.zoneani.me/clair-obscur-expedition-33-patch-adjusts-dodge-and-parry-timing/#respond <![CDATA[Jenni Lada]]> Tue, 10 Jun 2025 22:00:00 +0000 <![CDATA[News]]> <![CDATA[PC]]> <![CDATA[PlayStation 5]]> <![CDATA[Xbox Series X]]> <![CDATA[Clair Obscur: Expedition 33]]> <![CDATA[Europe]]> <![CDATA[Japan]]> <![CDATA[North America]]> <![CDATA[Sandfall Interactive]]> https://siliconera.zoneani.me/?p=1094812 <![CDATA[

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Patch Adjusts Dodge and Parry Timing

The Story difficulty in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will involve more manageable battles, as a new patch included dodge and parry time adjustments to make the windows for reacting larger. There are also options to change settings to arrange for a greater challenge if you are in Act 3. All are present after updating to 1.3.0.

Both of the Story difficulty changes in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are designed to make things a bit more manageable if someone experienced issues mastering dodge and parry timing. Both are now more forgiving. You get 40% larger windows to respond to an enemy by moving out of the way or counter their attack. Also, if you do get hit, it won’t hurt as bad. While previously, an attack that hit would do 60% of the damage it would on other difficulty levels, now it will only deal 50%.

As for making the game more difficult, you can set caps on your damage or adjust the health of enemies. With characters, you get two options for damage. You can make it so attacks top out at either 99,999 or 999,999. With enemies’ health, there are six different variants, all of which increase their vitality. The minimum increase is twice as much HP as normal, while the maximum is up to 100x.

Here are the full Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 patch nots for 1.3.0, which Sandfall shared on Steam. Note that there are spoilers in them, if you haven’t gotten to about Act 3.

New Kingdom Hearts Mouse Pads Debut in September

Square Enix announced that more Kingdom Hearts mouse pads are on the way, with four circular options and one desk-size option coming to Japan. These will debut there on September 20, 2025. While these items will likely appear worldwide, as Amazon and Square Enix Store both do carry past and other series designs, none of them are currently on any US storefronts just yet.

As the Kingdom Hearts II desk-size mouse pad is the largest, it is also the most expensive. It will cost 3,850円 (~$27). It is over 31 inches by almost 16 inches, and it is designed to cover a substantial area on a desk. These types of mats could also be used when playing card games or engaging in other activities. It features characters like Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Namine, Ansem, and of Organization XIII.

Here’s how that looks:

The four Kingdom Hearts circular mouse pads are 1,650円 (~$12) each. They are about eight inches around (200mm), so they’re really designed to only be used with mice. These each feature stained glass motifs. One features Xion front and center, with characters like Axel, Saix, Roxas, and Xehanort behind her. The second features Riku with Namine, King Mickey, and Ansem behind him. After that is one with Sora and Kairi back to back, with images of Namine and Roxas behind them. Finally, the last one features Sora in a crown sitting on a throne.

This is how all four of those will look:

As a reminder, all of the past mouse pads in this line featured similar sorts of designs. So circular ones always looked like stained glass windows, and the rectangular full-desk ones featured notable art with multiple characters.

The Kingdom Hearts mouse pads will debut in Japan on September 20, 2025. We’ll likely see them worldwide sometime after that.
